TECS + C&AI: Git Basics Workshop Part 1

Presented in collaboration with the TECS club, this workshop provides a practical introduction to Git, the industry-standard version control system used for tracking changes in software development. It is designed for those with little to no prior experience and will establish the foundational skills needed to use Git and collaborate on GitHub.

In this workshop will cover:

  • The fundamentals of what Git is and why version control is important.
  • Core commands for setting up a repository and tracking your changes.
  • Branching and merging workflows to properly develop features in isolation.
  • Collaborating with others using forks and pull requests on GitHub.

NOTE: Computers are not provided at this event. Please bring your own laptops so you can follow along with the workshop.
